Daylight. Anywhere, Anytime.
If you’re reading this, then you’re probably interested in arts and crafts like painting, drawing, model-building and so on. Then you’ll probably recognise this. Imagine you’re working on your project during daylight hours. You’ve got your daylight coming in through the window and everything looks pretty much as you would expect it to.
But…
… now it’s getting dark and obviously, you turn on a few lights in your house or in your studio. And you’ll notice that colours look different than they did during the day. This is a problem, because if you’re an artist, you obviously want to use exactly the right colours for your work. As you can see, regular household lighting is not very usable for arts and crafts. Well, as you can probably guess, we have a beautiful solution for this problem, but let me first explain why this happens.
What makes daylight daylight?
You see, daylight, or neutral white light as you might call it, actually contains a bandwidth, a so-called spectrum, of all colours known to man. The visible part goes from violet and purple on the left, to red all the way to the right and every colour imaginable between them.
So image you’ve got a red apple. What makes this apple red, is that it reflects only the red part of the spectrum, so our eyes see this apple as red. All other colours in the spectrum are not reflected by the apple, but rather absorbed by its surface. Same goes for anything else. A banana reflects just the yellow part and absorbs all other colours in the spectrum.
Now if you look at the same apple and the same banana with regular artificial lighting, they look different than they do outside. Because unlike real daylight, ordinary household lights do not contain the full spectrum, only a portion of it and some parts even have severe spikes, so the distribution is very uneven.
These lights are cozy for watching TV or drinking a glass of wine, but they are very poor at showing the right colours of objects, for instance the photograph you’re trying to paint, or the paint itself for that matter.
Our solution
That’s where our daylight lamps come in. These lights emit a neutral, white light that can be compared to daylight on a cloudy day at noon. Using these lights you always have the same lighting condition for your hobby or your profession – day and night, summer and winter. Always the same, perfect colour rendering.
These lights are very easy and comfortable to work with. You can choose a light with a stand or the version with a flexible arm which you can clamp onto pretty much anything, like your easel for instance. You can point the light exactly where you need it. And it has a great spread so whether you’re working on a small area or a huge painting, it’ll work for you. These lights will also reduce strain on your eyes so you can continue working and not get tired as quickly as you would with regular artificial lighting.
